About Us

Bosnian Islamic Center of Saint Louis – a community of believers working to preserve and strengthen the Islamic, Bosniak, and Bosnian components of the Bosniak being.

The Bosnian Islamic Center of Saint Louis (Džemat Bosanski Islamski Centar) was established in 2004, and its mosque was opened in 2010 as part of the 15th Bosniak Gathering in North America. The imams of the center are Enver-ef. Kunić and Selvir-ef. Mujanović.

In 2004, the Bosniaks of Saint Louis and the surrounding area decided to create a community of believers that would fight for the preservation and strengthening of the Islamic, Bosniak, and Bosnian aspects of their identity. They voluntarily chose to counter the forces of assimilation in the American cultural mosaic through the development of these components and the application of various methods of action, while also embracing the positive values of integration into American society. This led to the formation of the Bosnian Islamic Center of Saint Louis, a community of believers united in the name of Allah (SWT).

Over several decades, the Bosnian Islamic Center of Saint Louis has consistently addressed the questions of Islamic, Bosniak, and Bosnian identity in Saint Louis and the United States. Thanks to the center, the Bosniaks in Saint Louis have skillfully absorbed the cultural achievements of American society that align with the fundamental principles of Islamic, Bosniak, and Bosnian beliefs. At the same time, they have contributed to the spiritual enrichment and cultural enhancement of the American cultural mosaic. >>>
